Mixing the paint
In this simple example, only Reusche's tracing black is being used. This is the (7410-1059) stencil black version, selected because it is a shiny black. Two tablespoons of powder are placed on a piece of float glass of the purpose of mixing the paint. A small sprinkling of gum arabic is added.

Add table vinegar and mix with the painter's knife until creamy. You can't overmix! The more the better. Don't worry about using too much powder, once the vinegar dries up, it will keep forever, you can just leave it on the float glass and re-moisten it next time you need paint.
